Born out of the experience of running the tigersheds operation, Tiger Log Cabins began trading in 2004 with the mission of supplying quality UK manufactured log cabins to the UK retail sector. Today all Tiger log cabins are manufactured on a four acre site in Leeds.
Tiger Log Cabins use only slower growing European red wood timber, as opposed to the cheaper and faster growing white wood. Timber milled from slower growing trees should be harder and suffer fewer splits and cracks. As they have their own mill where they manufacture all their log cabin components, Tiger Log Cabins are arguably in a better position to maintain standards of quality than third party sellers who simply take orders for cabin kits shipped from abroad.
Tiger claim that the log design they use is unique. They use a “four way chamfered notch-joint system” – effectively two tongues rather than the usual single tongue to slot into the log above. This arguably provides a better seal against penetration inside the cabin of draughts or even damp.
Log widths on Tiger Log Cabins are 19mm, 28mm and 44mm. Tiger have a range of interesting designs with many models offering exceptionally light and bright interiors with large areas of door and window glazing. The company also offers a bespoke log cabin building service.
An interesting choice if you want your cabin sourced, milled, manufactured sold and delivered from the UK.
